Too many videos today inaccurately portray the majority of livestock farms across the United States as cruel and abusive "factory farms." In reality, the vast majority of farms in the United States remain family farms, and care very much about the animals the raise. Here's a glimpse of some of the things we do on our Boer Goat Farm. We want to take the time to share it with you because we care about our animals, about agriculture and about future food sources as farmland diminshes and the population grows. Cabrito/Chevon (goat meat) is the most consumed meat wolrdwide and the United States is nowhere close to meeting the demand in our own country. Thanks for watching . . . Freedom Farm

For a 1000 lb. ... For a 1000 lb. batch we use 250lbs of Noble Goat Charge Concentrate (32%) 350lbs. of Oats, 50lbs? of Black Oil Sunflower, 5 gal of liquid Molassis, and 300 lbs of ear corn. The Oats and ear corn get ground up (3/8 screen for oats and 3/4 screen for earcorn) the concentrate and sunflower get mixed with out grinding and molassis poured in last. Makes about a 15-16% feed. Sometimes we'll add half a bale of pure legume hay ground in also. Steve

Rearing Goats - Proper Nutrition For Goats to Maximize Profit Potential
Proper nutrition for goats is important at all ages in order to maximize profit potential in the kids, yearlings or adult animals. Nutrient requirements differ in various stages of maintenance, growth, pregnancy and lactation, but it is important to feed a balanced ration at all times as goats that are too fat, too skinny or receiving too much or too little of specific nutrients are more prone to other health problems. Conversely, goats that are sick, wormy or injured also will not benefit maximally from proper nutrition.

More than 70 goats were entered in the competition held at the Charlton County Agriculture Center. Whitworth, a sophomore who has an interest in raising goats, competed in his first show and won fifth- and sixth-place awards in his weight class.
